Frequently Asked Questions | Q & A

Q & A

Q.  How long will therapy take with your new treatment methods (the REMAP process, EMDR, CBT, NLP, etc.)?

A.  Length of treatment can vary depending on several factors such as:

How many problems you want to work on;

How long the issue has been troubling you;

How painful it was;

Your individual tolerance level for facing painful issues;

How frequently you can come for therapy;

Your ability to be completely open and honest about the problem;

Your ability to trust your therapist; and

Your willingness to give these new treatments your best effort.

Comparisons to traditional therapy show that these new methods can reduce treatment time between 50% and 75%.  In traditional therapy, a course of treatment often ranges from 3 to 5 years.  With these new approaches, a year and a half or less is likely.  Many people solve their problems in a few short months.  Some people have even found the relief they sought in a few sessions.  However long it takes, your treatment will be much more rapid than with the older methods of psychotherapy.

Q.  How much does treatment cost?

A.  Because my integration of these new therapies usually cuts the length of treatment by 50% to 75%, the cost to the client is dramatically less than traditional treatment. Many people have told me that they have gotten better results in just a few months with my blend of these newer therapies than they had received in years of conventional therapy.  Also, some people are able to come every other week and make good progress.  This can help those who need to budget their treatment cost.

Q.  How long is a therapy session and how much are your fees?

A.  A single therapy session is 45-50 minutes in length and the fee is currently $215.

Q.  Will my insurance help with the cost?

 A.  There is a good chance that it will, provided that your insurance will reimburse you for treatment by “out-of-network providers”.

Q. What are your hours and how do I make an appointment for therapy?

A.  I am in the office from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Thursday, and 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Friday.  Please call my office at (972) 997-9955 to make an appointment.  My phone is answered electronically if I am in session with a client or if your call is after hours.  Your call will be returned promptly if you will leave your home and work phone numbers and convenient times to call.  I welcome your calls for further information and I look forward to sharing these exciting new treatments with you.
